It's kind of hard to introduce these two without going on forever. You may remember Katie and Frank from when they got engaged and crept in the corner to catch the whole thing! Of course there was no way I was shooting their wedding, I have entirely too much crying. laughing, drinking, and dancing to do that day (and we're leaving it up to the fabulous Kristen Driscoll to capture it all!) For their session we headed over to one of my favorites, New Bridge Landing. We should have known better setting up a December date, but with the warm weather we had been having we took our chances. Well, it was freezing! But of course Katie and Frank were great sports, and I even had Katie's sister Jessie helping me out too. This session was so much fun to do! Not only getting to spend time with my best friends but getting to capture the anticipation of their big day! Oh and they're kind of cute too :)

This past December I had the chance to spend the day shooting the sweetest couple, Matt and Samantha! Their session was actually a gift from one of my past couple's Sarah and Kyle! We had the most gorgeous and warm December day at one of my favorite local parks Van Saun. I loved all the Christmas elements we added to their session and we were able to use so many different types of textures and pops of color throughout our day, even in the dead of winter. Congrats again on your engagement guys!!
This past October I had the opportunity of being with Michael and Dianne as they said their "I dos" surrounded by their family and friends! While I didn't get to know them much earlier than their wedding day due to Michael being stationed down south, Dianne and Mike are incredibly easy to get along with. They were so go with the flow and their bridal party was just a blast. Their gorgeous reception at The Knoll West Country Club was one of the best yet. AMG Entertainment had the crowd going all night! This night I had Laura of Laura Napoli Photography second shooting with me. Laura is equally as talented as she is sweet and made the best addition to the team that night. Congrats again Mike and Dianne on your marriage and thank you for having me!
I'm so glad I finally found a minute to get this blog in (supposedly this is supposed to be our slow time?) I've known Amy forever, pretty much literally. We grew up across the street from each other and were always hanging out with the rest of the neighborhood gang after school and during the summer. Running bases, lemonade stands, pool days, and even the occasional butt show (don't ask) we always had tons of memories growing up together. I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her and Jason's wedding. They are both so laid back (I think I see a trend here with KMP brides) and easy going. Jess and I said at one point to each other that we were waiting for something really tough to happen because the day just really flowed so smoothly. Thank you Thank you Thank you for giving me this opportunity! I remember going home and thinking, " that was fun." Which is pretty rough after weddings. And a special shoutout to Jess from Jessica Marie Photography for as always coming in clutch for me! Congratulations to the Birds!!!
Sarah and Kyle had one of the best engagement sessions to end the year! I loved how personal they made it by hitting up some of their favorite places in downtown Nyack, which included a record shop, metallica, and beers, just to name a few. It was urban, fun, bright, and dare I say a little sexy? Kyle is so go with the flow and was into it, which makes all the difference when guys are up for engagement sessions! And I have to talk about Sarah. Sarah and I went to college together and even though we didn't know each other we had a bunch of mutual friends. With both of us being teachers I think we just clicked. We were able to bounce ideas off one another and it always seemed like she knew the exact pose or look I wanted without me even saying anything to her. I think it helps that Sarah runs an incredble wedding business herself - Perfectly In Place where she acts as a day of coordinator for so many lucky tri-state couples. From Elton John, to Photobombers, to mistaken falls in the street, this one was one for the books. Big thanks to Prohibition River and The Kiam Record Shop for letting us use their spaces. I think it's pretty easy to say that I am so excited for Kyle and Sarah's wedding next November!!
We made it past the terrible twos! Looking back compared to the start of three, maybe it wasn't so terrible :P Three is interesting. Lots of great thoughts, imagination, energy, and tons of attempt to reason but usually for all the wrong reasons. We started off Colton's 4th year by going to church, and sending off prayers that the big man upstairs leads him down the right path. Colton followed that by throwing himself in the aisle and quickly jumping into an alligator like death roll. We're clearly going in the right direction.
In all fairness, that's just Colton. He knows what he wants, plans everything out, and expects it to be executed to his expectations. He is relentless in making things work just as he envisions it with the brains of an engineer and the actions of a bull in a china shop. I think my favorite thing about watching Colton grow up has been watching him learn his strengths and weaknesses and his likes and dislikes. He's assertive, polite, and hardworking. He asks questions, and he'll keep asking the same questions until he gets the answer he wants or a better explanation of the right answer. Colton's year included all his favorite things: trains, trips to Virginia, trains, trains in Virginia, baseball, golf, trains at the driving range, school, playgrounds, playgrounds near trains, zoos, train rides at the zoo, well you get the hint. I don't share a ton of Colton through my business work mainly because he's the hardest client I've ever had to deal with. Ever. So I wanted to take a few minutes to share a few favorites now :) I think he'll be death rolling all over this year! Here are a few past favorites from the year of THREE! I felt like this was the perfect time to blog Jamie and Glenn's engagement session, we're just about a month and half out from their wedding (yes guys, crunch time!) I really can't get over how excited I am to celebrate with them and all their family and friends! We had an awesome September day which gave us such a great exit to a beautiful summer. Glenn and Jamie, thank you so much for being such good sports, I literally threw you into every scenario, and you did never blinked an eye! Can't wait for 2016!
I had one goal for 2015, a rustic wedding! The options for old homes, barns, and cowboy boots are pretty limited here in the Garden State, but somehow Corey and Bill pulled it off. You could tell that they put in so much thought into every detail for the day to reflect them and their personality. It was comfortable, yet elegant, and was truly a family affair. Corey's mom performed the ceremony while her stepdad's country band played a few sets, it was incredible! The girls got readied in the historic Glenburn Estate, while the ceremony was held on the gorgeous lawn, thankfully the rain held off! We continued the evening into the tent where Corey and Bill's family and friends danced all night under the tent, thankfully away from the rain! Thank you so much for having me guys! You both truly made me feel so comfortable from day 1 and I loved celebrating with you guys!
I had been looking forward to this wedding all year!! After Matt and Jen's awesome engagement session at Grounds for Sculptures, I was so excited when they asked me to shoot their wedding. They are incredibly laid back, easy to work with, and fun, and the best part was knowing so many familiar faces at the wedding - it makes it feel a little less like work :) The drinks were flowing, we witnessed some epic dance battles, and best of all we got to see Jen and Matt have the time of their lives with family and friends. I couldn't have done this wedding without my second shooter Jess, she really killed this one!
Genevieve and Chris' wedding was truly a family affair. Everything from the ceremony, to the toast, to the dances, it really was about two families coming together. It was not only awesome to see all of their family and friends coming together, but Genevieve and Chris' kids took part in such a huge part of their day, it was awesome seeing how excited they were and how much fun they were having. All of the day's excitement took place at the beautiful Woodcliff Lake Manor, where the grounds absolutely steal the show. Even in the little time we had, I loved sneaking them out for some different shots! Congrats again Chris and Genevieve!!!
