I cannot even begin to tell you what a beautiful, laid back, fun wedding Rachel and Nick had, but I have to start somewhere. When I first met with them during the winter, we hit it off right away. They're parents three hilarious and energetic little guys. Nick's also a teacher, so I think we talked more about that than the wedding itself :) The day of their wedding was beautiful especially for August. Rachel got ready at her parents home with her two oldest while Nick got ready with Jaxx at their home where we did their first look. My God, I was a weeping mess after that. The instance Nick looks at Rachel you know he is so proud to be with her, and I'm pretty sure she feels like the luckiest lady being with him. We did our portraits right down the road from Aldo's where the reception in Wyckoff was taking place. My favorite thing about Nick and Rachel's wedding was that everything was so them. From the kids in the ceremony, to the music, to the intimacy of the guest list. The focus was on them finally coming together as husband and wife. Congratulations you two, it was a blast!!

Doug + Stacy = Wed! Central NJ Wedding, NJ Wedding Photographer {Kristen Maus Photography}7/24/2015 I seriously love these two. Although we didn't even meet until April, when we did meet, it just felt natural. You could tell that Doug and Stacy were just a really sweet couple, looking to have an awesome wedding, but more importantly, a truly happily ever after. Doug and Stacy were willing to do anything for me but, if you could see these two in action, I literally just stood back and shot, they were so comfortable with each other. Their ceremony was beautiful, heartfelt, and personal. Now let's talk about the party. The dancing, the shots, but my favorite part was when we went around to each table for table portraits and the cheers these two got. Everyone was just so ecstatic for them to be married. Huge thank you to Lauren from B-Roll Photography, she was a huge help for the day shooting/assisting and rocking it at 7 months pregnant! Doug and Stacy, thank you so much for letting me be with you guys on your day, it was a blast!
I think the best way to introduce Monica and Mike's engagement session is to start with how I met Monica. When Joe and I decided to make our move back to North Jersey, I started my current teaching position after the school year had started. On my first day of coming to the school, I met this bright, bubbly girl wearing a bun who I was introduced to as my roommate for the school year. Upon arrival she was immediately switching desks with me to get the better one, but little did I know this girl would become my oatmeal buddy, my confidant, and my first friend at this new huge intimating school. Although I had never met Mike, I felt like I knew him after hearing about him for over a hear. Mike is patient, hard working, and willing to go along with any crazy idea Monica has. They truly compliment each other so well. Everyone that knows Monica knows her for her outgoing personality, willingness to share, and to try new things. My goal for this session was show Monica in a light we don't always get to see since she's often in her soccer shorts and softball polos. She was absolutely radiant and I just loved the way Mike looked at her during this entire session. Thank you Monica and Mike for having me capture this incredible time during your lives. Also a huge thank you to Mike's parents for letting us shoot on their gorgeous property!
Wow. Talk about an incredible engagement session! Kyle and Sarah blew me away with how excited they were for their session. A whole couple's (not just the girl's!) attitude totally makes the session. We had an absolute blast checking out Hamilton Park in Weehawken where we got not only amazing skyline views but varied landscapes and scenery. Working with this couple certainly didn't feel like work at all. Thank you so much guys for such an awesome session :)
By far one of the weddings I was most excited to shoot in 2015, and it definitely lived up to its expectation! After laughing my way through Lisa and Gerard's engagement session, I knew the wedding at Victor's Chateau was going to be a blast. The Up touches, surprise dances, Mr. Met, it just kept getting better. Thank you again Lisa and Gerard for having me at your totally awesome day. And also a shoutout to Jess at Jess the Right Moment Photography for second shooting with me!
With these two getting married tomorrow, I had to get their Weehawken engagement session up on the blog! I first met Lisa and Gerard back in November when we got to know each other over drinks and awesome meatball sliders. They were super laid back about their upcoming wedding and really wanted it to be a celebration of their lives together with their family and close friends. These two are silly and fun, yet are clearly willing to do anything for each other. Even with the chilly March weather, they donned their jerseys for a baseball themed session. Not only did we find an awesome field, we got one with some views too :) You guys, I can't believe your day is tomorrow!! Let's celebrate!
Gloria + Frank - Tenafly, NJ Wedding, Bergen County Wedding Photographer {Kristen Maus Photography}4/9/2015 The minute I sat down with Frank and Gloria, their happiness over their upcoming nuptials was just radiating off of them. They were just beginning their planning process, but what I think made it a little easier was that they were so comfortable in what their end result to be, it made the rest feel so easy. Their day gave us some rough weather, but it didn't affect them in the slightest, Frank and Gloria just rolled with the punches, with the biggest smiles on all day! One of my favorite parts was the ceremony, it was the most emotional I had ever been to with so many amazing heartfelt moments. Thank you Gloria and Frank for having me and my awesome assistant/second shooter Alyson of Alyson Barrow Photography!
One of my favorite aspects of being a wedding photographer is getting the chance to be a part of a family for the day. I'm there for the laughs, the cries, and every dynamic in-between. Lourdes and Johnson's wedding was nothing short of that experience. I truly felt like I was one of them right from the get go, it felt like hanging out with friends, and much less than being on the job for the day. Lourdes and Johnson's wedding, though small and intimate, was extremely personal and of course fun! Their ceremony incorporated family and friends including a beautiful reading by the bride's sister. The reception was decorated simply which was the perfect compliment to the amazing views we had of the hudson and New York. The Chart House served an amazing dinner and the dj kept the dance floor packed all night long! One of my favorite parts was the dancing, seriously everyone was up at one point or another. Thank you Lourdes and Johnson for allowing me to be part of your amazing day!
It truly feels like we've been doing a countdown since Evan's 3 month session last May, can you believe we made it to one?! It's been amazing seeing him change and the entire family. Erica and Greg work as such an awesome team, they make it look so easy! Here are some favorites from this lifestyle and cake smash session we had a few weeks ago!
